First Hand Online Dating Experience

Sometimes online dating experience don’t bode too well for the people experiencing them. Sometimes they end up being a terrible beginning to an even worse night. However, there are also many first hand experience stories that end on a good note. In fact, some people who met online and started dating have now been married and have children. You honestly never know who you will meet online. This goes for the next first hand experience that was sent in to us by a woman that would prefer to remain anonymous; lets call her Kathy.
“I have nothing against the idea that other people use online dating site personals to find friends, ‘special’ partners, or long term companions but the idea of me ever having to ‘resort’ (sorry) to using a dating site to find love (or at least lust) seemed desperate and a little sad to be frank. I don’t know if its because I set high standards for myself, but I could never get past the idea of resulting to meeting a perfect stranger online. ‘Why try and meet a stranger online when I can try and meet a stranger out in public?’ I thought to myself.
Then one day my best friend told me that her dates with a new man she had just met were going fantastically and that he may even be ‘the one’. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. My friend is not the type of girl to settle down and the fact that the idea of marriage was even entering her brain puzzled me. Then the words that I will never forget came out of her mouth: ‘We met online’. What?! Really?!
Now, I knew what was coming next, she was going to suggest that I make a profile and file the love of my life just as she had. I tried to tell her that she probably discovered a once-in-a-lifetime thing an it wouldn’t happen to me. I’m more of a ‘lets meet up in person’ type of gal. But just so my friend would get off my back I signed up for a free membership at PassionSearch. For a month I didn’t really check my account or try and use it at all because frankly, I didn’t want to. Then one rainy day I was sitting home alone an bored. I decided to log on to PassionSearch and check out the personals. I first read all of the messages in my inbox and was surprised to find a very cute man who lived in my area had messaged me asking to chat. We quickly exchanged email addresses and ended up talking for two weeks straight.
Now, we have been dating for three years and I have no shame in telling people we met online. When it comes down to it, it doesn’t matter WHERE you meet the love of your life, all that matter is the fact that you have someone in your life who loves you and treats you the way you deserve to be treated. The rest is just politics.”
